My Past Rides

Captain Prince

Pie - 11.3hh Welsh A - Chestnut Gelding

Open Small M+M

Absolute little maniac, but really good fun. For some reason he was perfect for my little sister as a FR SP, if anyone bigger got on he thought he was going racing! But as I had a lack of ponies to ride at one time I decided it would be great fun to start riding him again... and it was! Learnt some new tricks for calming whizzy ponies as well.

Wingland Pollygarter
Polly - 13hh Riding Pony - Chestnut Mare

Part Bred Welsh / 13hh SHP

She was the most horrendous mare to back, used to lay down if she didn't want to do anything! Luckily she did grow out of that, but if she didn't want to go somewhere, she WOULDN'T. Especially when it came to leaving the line up.... so her ridden career was put on hold and she is now going to be a broodmare as she has the most fantastic temperament on the ground.

Ridings Windflower
Posie - 12.2hh Riding Pony - Chestnut Mare

Backing / Riding In / Schooling

Posie was my little baby, very very VERY naughty to deal with, took nearly a year to get her going relatively sanely and by that time I was far too big for her and had to pass her down to my brother who Show jumped her, so I had to keep her in check as he would never school her! I really really liked her, she was so full of character and talent, will make a great broodmare.

Rookery Jamie
Jamie - 12hh Welsh A - Chestnut Gelding

Small M+M / Hunting

Very lazy little pony, EXTREMELY lazy little pony, amazing hard work, but he does really well in FR classes with my little brother. Not so much with my little sister as she doesn't have the stamina to keep him together just yet!
Great out hunting though as it's just like going out on a hack.

Challengers Riyahd
Riyah - 15.2 Anglo Arab - Chestnut Mare

Schooling / Show Jumping

This was my mothers horse on loan. She had a LOT of issues when we first got her, she worked through most of them well, but never got over her fear of doubles!
She had extreme issues with schooling and working in an outline. Someone had obviously scared her really badly somewhere down the line, as she knew exactly what was wanted of her, and when she did she worked AMAZINGLY but every now and then she would just have panick fits, and couldn't work under pressure ever, making her unsuitable for anything other than Endurance and hacking. Which is a great shame.

Buster
13hh PBW - Dark Bay Gelding

13hh SHP / Part Bred Welsh

Really fab little pony, wish he was kept around a little longer! Very whizzy and needed a lot of warming in, but once he was done he was fantastic, such a nice ride for a psycopath.

Sparky
16hh TB Ex-racer - Liver Chestnut Mare

Show Jumping / Schooling

A rather insane ride I met on my work experience. After it had finished I was asked to come back and keep her in check as I'd got on so well with her.
I had some fantastic instruction by the "resident queer" (self titled!) and got some really good experience of naughty horses, being mainly used to naughty ponies.. I'd chose a naughty horse anyday!

Sedusa
Sadie - 14.2hh Competition Pony - Piebald Mare

Show Jumping

This mare is owned by my friend Danny Fuller, and as my mare was out of action he let me show jump her. Me and Frankie always do pairs with him and Sadie as well. She is a fantastically brave little mare, but can put some odd jumps in!

Two Step
Tupe - 11hh Lead rein pony - Bay Gelding

Backing / Schooling

One of the tiniest ponies I've ever ridden! He was a real sweetie pie, easy to do with everything, perfect lead rein pony.

Just So
Jussie - 12.2hh Riding Pony - Chestnut Gelding

Backing / Schooling

This little boy had been quite rushed I think, he didn't really feel happy under saddle but it wasn't my place to say anything, he was sold on quickly.

This was his first ever jumping session today and was actually quite proud of him, even though he'd been *really annoying Posted by newpicciewiccyaccount on 03/09/2003, 39KB

He's lovely really, but my patience was missing big time today :s

Bella
13hh Welsh B - Liver Chestnut Mare

Backing / Schooling

This little mare really was going to be going places, I was called in to help with her as she was in her nappy baby stage, I found her really lovely to ride, and she was really really sweet. Unfortunately she died suddenly when I was not there due to a brain hemorrage.
RIP

Connie
14.2hh Connemara - Fleabitten Grey Mare

Schooling

I only rode this mare a few times before she was sold again. She was very mareish and heavy on your hands, but with a lot of intensive schooling sessions she did start to supple up and be a much nicer ride.

Trallwm Charm
Charm - 12hh Unreg Welsh A - Grey Mare

Rebacking and Rehoming

This little mare had quite a few issues, especially with numnahs and rugs. But I helped her through most of them and did a lot of work getting her used to being ridden again, calmly and safely, and she was a real character, Gremlin was her nick name!

Trallwm Beauty
Beauty - 12hh Welsh A - Dapple Grey Mare

Backing and Rehoming

This little mare had spent 6 years of her life just in a field as a pet, she was so so easy to do, she was backed and nearly totally ridden away in a week! Lovely little mare, she went to a fantastic home and their all in love with her there too!

Trallwm Murphy
Murphy - 13.2hh Arab X - Grey Gelding

Schooling and Rehoming

Murphy was another of the ponies I took an interest in at Trallwm, he was extremely lazy, probably due to old stiff joints, but he was very safe and knew what was being asked of him.

Pixiedust
Pixie - 12hh Welsh A - Bay Mare

Brought back into work

I only rode this mare once, after nearly a years holiday I think it was, she was such a sweetheart, tried to nap here and there but soon settled into it and produced some lovely work.

Copperfield Cosmic Dust
Dusty - 13.1hh Welsh B Type - Liver Chestnut Gelding

All Pony Club

A very mean little pony, used to try and attack me whilst grooming him! Physically couldn't work in an outline, but could jump his little socks off. Gave me my confidence back with going fast and jumping.

The Snowman

Snowie - 12.2hh Welsh A Type - Grey Gelding

Taught me to ride

Was an absolute monster, used to buck me off daily, really put me off ponies and scared me, but for some reason I kept going! Used to nap/buck/rear/kick/bite so really did teach me a lot about naughtiness!!
